Our Story

Hello we’re Claire-Louise and Bruce and together we run the Gîtes L’Enclos.

Having owned our own retail business in Norwich in the East of England for nearly 20 years we decided that it was time for a new challenge. A home in France was something we had always talked about as Claire-Louise's parents had recently sold their house in Vence in the Alpes Maritimes and we missed spending time there. It didn't take us long to fall in love with the Dordogne region, especially the Vézère Valley as it has it all: Friendly people, outstanding countryside, tranquillity and great food. As a result in the summer of 2019 we shut up shop and made the big move to the perigord noir to live and run two charming gîtes on the banks of the Vézère. We love meeting people from all over the world and sharing this beautiful region of France seemed the perfect new venture.

Summer 2023 will be our fifth summer here and these have all been happy ones. The locals always give us a warm welcome and our guests have all been wonderful. We look forward to welcoming many more guests over the years to come.
